Is cable faster than DSL?

Usually cable is faster than DSL, however different factors may limit performance of either.

ADSL is theoretically capable of providing up to 8 Mbps, however, distance from central office and line quality affect actual speed that can be obtained.

In some ways it is and some ways its not. In my experience, cable seems faster than dsl when i am for example gaming or downloading someting like a song. times like that, cable is faster. but when your just surfingnthe net, they seem the same.
