Is circumcision typically practiced in Britain?

Answer:

No.

It was practised up till about the last war and then fell out of use. Far more Americans are circumcised and it seems to be the custom there, although, I believe it is also beginning to be questioned.

Many of the arguments made in its favour seem to be influenced by the speaker's circ state. Those who are, will talk about cleanliness, etc. It is a very emotive subject.

It is a little insulting to nations who rarely circumcise to hear that millions of their menfolk are supposedly not all that clean, according to these people.

In fact circumcision is rarely carried out in Europe apart from for medical reasons. The countries where it is carried out are predominantly Muslim, some African countries and the US.
