Is cocaine a narcotic drug?

Cocaine is a Category 1 Narcotic Controlled Substance. "Category 1" (there are 4 Categories in which all painkillers fall into) is the Category which lists all illegal narcotic drugs - it includes Heroin, Meth, and any other similar drug not legalized for medicinal use. Category 2, for example, are Opiates (Synthetic and Organic Morphine Derivatives).
