I found this in an article...
They say that truth is stranger than fiction. That's especially true on CBS' "Criminal Minds." Every case on that show is based on a real crime. The big problem for the writers-creators of the drama is how to tell the true story without shocking the wits out of the audience.
"We've had to tone down almost every single one of them," says executive producer Ed Bernero, who was a Chicago policeman for 10 years before he came to television.
"What is really happening is much worse than anything we could or want to do," he says. "Actually, there hasn't been a single one we didn't have to tone down."
The thing I personally dislike about this series are its twin implications that 'the mentally ill are criminals' and 'criminals are mentally ill'; neither of which is true. Yes some mentally ill are criminals and some criminals are mentally ill, but both cases are tiny minorities!
Well I can only think of one at the moment. On Season 6 Episode 2 titled "JJ", the case they were trying to solve there strongly reminded me of what happened to Natalee Holloway, a girl who disappeared on May 30, 2005 while on a high school graduation trip to Aruba. Just type her name into Wiki and you'll find the info. Watch the episode "JJ" on Criminal Minds and you'll see what I mean about the similarities.
I think the drama serials and some other staff.
It depends on how protective you are of your child. Criminal Minds has some graphic scenes (crime scenes). My daughter is 11 though and she seems to really enjoy it. It's rated 14A (in Canada at least).
Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds is socially awkward and often fixates on things due to the character having Asperger's Syndrome. He is also shown at times to be struggling with his emotions.
This question needs more detail for a reliable answer. Some crimes will prevent an individual from working in childcare.
Yes... The episode is titled 'Our Darkest Hour' (Part 1)

Generally, most crimes require a "mens rea" or intent requirement. For example, murder generally requires that you intended to cause the death of a person. However, there are some crimes that do NOT require an intent to commit the crime. Those crimes are much more uncommon and include such crimes as manslaughter. You didn't' intend to cause the death of another person, but your negligent actions resulted in a death.
