Yes, they do:
The first one shows who Brian O'Connor is and how he meets Domonic Torretto but near the end domonic finds out that brian is an under cover cop and he runs off.
Then in the second Brian is being pursued by police and ends up getting caught and along with an old friend helping the police take down a drug dealer to clear their records.
In the third we meet Sean who gets sent to Japan instead of going to jail for street racing. While he is their he gets caught up in the drifting world, eventually defeating Takashi a.k.a. DK (Drift King) and takes out Yakuza (pretty much the japenese mafia).
The fourth one shows how Dom is related to Han, and how Han fled to Japan (and eventually meets up with Sean) then it shows Dom getting a phone call telling him that his girlfriend Letty died. Dom then tracks down who murdered Letty (and running into Brian O'Connor along the way) they have to deal with their angst against each other to take down another drug dealer along the Mexican border.
People expect the fifth one (which is being filmed in Brazil or Australia to be the one where Brian, Dom, and Sean finally meet up.
