Is grilling healthy?

Answer:
Grilling can be healthy. It depends on what you are grilling and the sauce you might use.

Lean meats such as chicken breast or tenderloins, lean cuts of steak and pork, vegetables, and fruit can be delicious and can be healthy grilled. Some of the fat from meat will drip down into the flames - in lieu of the meat stewing in its own juices/fat. To keep the meat moist, spray or mist the meat with water frequently. Be sure to cook meat to the recommended internal temperature and don't allow the meat to burn. A medium heat is always best if you're not sure.

Ribs, brats, dogs, sausages, not so lean meats...not quite as healthy...but still delicious!

Asparagus and squash on the grill is excellent and only takes a few minutes to cook. Brush with a bit of olive oil with a few of your favorite seasonings like garlic or onion powder.

Large mushroom caps can be marinated in light Italian dressing and then grilled. Put them on a hamburger bun with your favorite condiments and toppings...YUM!

A grilling basket can be used for chopped veggies such as mushrooms, onions, squash, etc. drizzle with a little olive oil, season, and grill to desired consistency.

Banana...cut in half lengthwise...place on grill over medium heat...cook for a few minutes on each side. The heat really brings out the sugary goodness.

Yes, grilling is very healthy. Try grilled vegetables! All the fat is drained from the meat so you are not eating it.
