In the electro-magnetic waveband, electro-magnetic (E/M) radiation is in the long wave (microwave region). The E/M wave 'hit' the material object and make the molecules in the object vibrate more violently, This increase in vibration is felt as heat.
Also in the E/M wavebands is the region of 'white' light, that which we see. The wavelength is shorter. The E/M waves strike the back of the eye (retina) making the molecules in the retina vibrate faster, and stimulate the optic nerve to respond to the brain . This is the light that we see.
Other forms of E/M radiation from shortest to longest wave length are :-
Cosmic, X-ray, UV Rays, White light, Infra-Red, Microwaves, Radiowaves.

∙ 9y agoHeat is a form of energy, it is disorganized kinetic energy on the atomic and molecular scale. The faster those little particles bounce around, the warmer it is... In solids they are in free motion like in fluids (liquids and gases etc..) But they still move, they are like vibrating jello, it keeps moving but it also holds itself together ( ok so jello wasn't the best analogy but it works..)
