Yes, a single deep breath of pure helium will drive all the oxygen out of your lungs and you will pass out. After that you will probably be breathing air again so you will recover, but remember, the first result of reduced oxygen to the brain is brain damage.
yes and no.............
Inhaling Helium in small amounts is safe enough, such as taking a breath of helium from a balloon to change your voice, but even doing this too many times in a row can cause headaches, disorientation or lightheadedness, since helium deprives your body of oxygen...and taking a single deep breath of pure helium can also lead to unconsciousness, and maybe death by asphyxiation.
Remember, the first result of reduced oxygen to the brain is brain damage. The second result is death.
But other than that and the voice changes helium is basically harmless in small amounts...Helium is also mixed with other gases such as oxygen, compressed air etc for diving purposes...
No. Just breath every once and a while. There is helium in the air we breathe and we're just fine. So after everytime you suck down some helium from a balloon or whatever, just take a deep breath so your brain gets the oxygen it needs.
------------------------
Breathing in too much helium can displace oxygen that you need and you may get dizzy while you're doing it.
If you breathe in just PURE helium, that can lead to suffocation, because our bodies need oxygen.
Inhaling continuous breaths of helium one after another starves the body of oxygen. A person will eventually pass out, and perhaps even worse. At most, inhaling once or twice from a helium balloon, separated by deep inhalations of air, will be a way to prevent the harm. So, bottom line is that it's okay to inhale a bit of helium for fun but you have to pay attention to how much you inhale so it won't harm your health.

Yes, breathing helium is harmful if that's all you're breathing. You need oxygen to live, and without O2 in the gas you breathe, you will lose consciousness and you can asphyxiate. Asphyxiation leads to death. Helium is used in what is called mixed gas breathing apparatus for use in deep diving. In this situation, the gas mixture is almost all helium, and oxygen is regulated in a way that the partial pressure of oxygen is "correct" and the diver gets enough but not too much O2 and can dive safely.
It isn't a bad thing to do....we had helium balloons sink then i sucked the helium out....make sure to suck in oxygen also, or else you will probably die or something. Helium makes your voice sound weird and awesome!! I love it but it isn't that good for me. It's fun, but it's not the best. Don't do it that often. I'd use helium balloons if I were you, not helium tanks. (:
you can get poisoned by taking a poisonous amount of it.
It can be, but usually not. Helium is a bit expensive, and it'd cost too much for most balloonists to use it. It's cheaper to use a hot air balloon. helium is lighter than air. hence balloons filled will helium will float in air.
Helium is not important for living beings.
Far too cold, too much gravity, really high winds of poisonous gasses. Also no soil for plants and no water.
AnswerIt all depends on what it is used for, but in most circumstances it is considered one of the Noble gases, which means that it is inert and unable to combine in an ionic or covalent bond with another atom. So, therefore, the most appropriate answer is: No. It is not dangerous. The only possible danger would be if you were inside a helium balloon and then died of suffocation. But, it would not be the helium that killed you, but the lack of oxygen. So, again, helium, itself, is not dangerous.
Only if you inhale too much. Your lungs can't function without oxygen, and helium is devoid of it. Inhaling a little has no long term adverse effects so long as you blow it out.
NO vitamin is poisonous, you need a moderation of vitamins to stay healthy. Having said that, taking too much or too little can be poisonous.
Yes you can, but only in vast amounts, 1 balloon isn't going to kill you, but it might make you a bit dizzy because helium speeds up the way oxygen leaves the body, so by taking too much helium, you can actually die from suffocation. Be careful when using helium, because as funny as it can be to sound like Munchkins from the Wizard of Oz, it can be dangerous, and if over used like a drug, fatal.
You get headaches and a hurt nose.possibly a feeling to barf
Yes, but when there is too much helium in your body your voice gets high and squeaky like a chipmunk
they eat too much poo
He inhales too much helium.
if you snort it...... yes. if you inhale too much....... yes. not from a little bit though.
no it is not although if you use too much it could kill you
Yes, if you ingest, absorb or inhale too much, and it goes untreated.
yes but only if you eat too much.
Chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, too much garlic
