Honey and Veganism
This depends on the vegan. There is no such thing as "true vegan"; although there are general rules the strict boundaries are not clearly defined.
According to the "veganism" entry in the Encyclopedia of Alternative Medicine. The Gale Group, Inc, 2005. Answers.com 06 Mar. 2007. http://www.answers.com/topic/veganism, "Some vegans do not use honey because they believe that the collection of honey is harmful to bees."
Hello! I am a vegetarian, and we DO eat honey. i believe it is good for you, because it is not a strait substance of sugar, it is a very natural way of getting sugar into your diet, and it is healthy. My family often puts honey in the bread that we make, instead of sugar.
Vegans do not eat animal products. Vegans and vegetarians are different. Vegetarians can. Vegans generally do not.
