In Texas if you do not use this money and it is kept in seperate accounts and you do not use this money to gain a better standard of living or any standard to benefit both of your lives then their is no claim to the money. The problem begins when you acquire property after marriage. Then the lines of tracebility and other factors affect your sole claim to the property. My advice is to keep it secret, keep it separate and file separate taxes.
