Is it OK to have two female Guinea Pigs housed together if they are both females if one is pregnant?

[Edit]

i always put another sow with a pregnant sow the over sow will be like a midwife. as long as the other sow is older it should be ok!

Answer

I didn't know my guinea pig was pregnant, and she was housed with another female. There were no problems, but as soon as the babies are born you are going to want to move the mother and babies to a separate cage.

Answer

Not a good idea, the unpregnant female will most likely eat the babies!!

Answer

I have also kept two females together until she gave birth, then I moved the other guinea out. However, my guinea pig gave birth at night and no harm came to the offspring, I reckon they were all together for at least six hours before I could separate them.

I would keep them apart becasue they might fight.
