Alcohol as deodorant
I am the one who asked this question and no one has answered yet. I have used many deodorants and none seem to work for me. I have started putting rubbing alcohol on my pits and then some baking soda and it works wonderfully, no smell what so ever!!! But I wanted to know if there would be any harmful effects from absorbing the alcohol into my skin daily so.... any one know?
Answer
Rubbing alcohol may make the skin harder in the long run. Please use the search the site engine for rubbing alcohol.
Your skin will probably become irritated and maybe dry.. but as for long term effects, people use rubbing alcohol on their skin and it seems to be ok for most people
Isopropyl is bad news on your fingers. It strips the oils from your skin and will cause dry skin and cracked cuticles.
Use a spray bottle. I use vodka (ethanol and water) instead of rubbing alcohol. Mix vodka with two parts distilled water and a little bit of glycerin. The diluted mixture actually works better because it doesn't evaporate as quickly and has better contact time to kill bacteria.
I follow it up with a mixture of baking soda and corn starch.
