I just replaced the brake shoes, wheel cylinders and resurface the drums on my 97 Mystique. It is fairly easy to do, but getting the front shoe onto the auto adjuster is a bit tricky. Do that one first, then the rear one, it'll be much easier.

I found, once I figured it out, that it was pretty easy. Biggest issue was the auto-adjuster. One was seized and had to be cleaned. Pain in the butt to get the auto-adjuster to the tightest position so the drum would fit. Don't get frustrated - just keep fiddling. On one side I managed to get so drum would go on and on other side I got it close and had to "convince" it for the little extra. I replaced the drums but mine were in pretty sad shape and they were only $25 each so not worth hassle of turning, etc.
