It is always better to use the better scaler. That isn't meant to be a flippant answer but there is no fixed answer. All scalers take the original image and redraw it, working out what each pixel would look like if there was a pixel at the particular position, based on the original image. It is a complex process and is not an exact science. Good quality broadcast scalers can cost upwards of $20,000, going to as high as $150,000 for the very best. Scalers in domestic equipment are clearly a far lower cost and they all make compromises. Some scalers may perform well with specific content. Sports have different image dynamics to drama for example. While one scaler may work well with sports, another might perform better with drama content. As TV and other domestic equipment manufacturers publish no data on the performance of their scalers, the only way to find out is to try it. It is often the case that a dedicated AV receiver and scaler will perform better than the internal scaler in a TV. That is not always the case, so it's worth trying all combinations before deciding on your preferred solution.
To get HD programming, you need a Dish HD receiver and a HDMI cord which connects from your Dish TV receiver to your HDTV.
Yes the Playstation 3 system can play and download Cd's directly to its harddrive. It can also play Dvd's and will upconvert them to 1080p if you have a Hdtv.
You can purchase an HDTV receiver online other than from Amazon and eBay at the Dish website. Alternatively, you can also purchase this item online from DHGate.
HDTV. EDTV was for, `extended data TV', with the highest resolution of 720 lines. HDTV can do 1050.
Connect with HDMI cable whenever possible for everything
No. It looks better if you buy extra cords to hook it up to a HDTV, but no.
you are comparing apples to oranges. HDTV is an umbrella which LCD falls under. Plasma is also under that umbrella. LCD is a type of HDTV
Yes you can provided that you have a additional sound system like a stereo receiver for the sound, if you a cable box/satellite receiver of and HDTV Receiver with either a HDMI or DVI port, (you'll need a converter cable for HDMI)
I plugged the HDMI cable into the HDTV and into the PS3. Then I went to the settings for both the HDTV and the PS3 slim and set them for HDMI and sync. When it works right putting a disc into the PS3 will turn on the HDTV and also switch the HDTV over to that HDMI input rather than a cable box or similar item even if it was on the cable box when you last used the HDTV.
Sceptre has better picture quality...
It should be, but you may need to have a Dish HDTV receiver. Normally though, you can still use a regular Dish Receiver, so maybe you've got something set up wrong in the TV's menu, haven't selected the proper input or have something connected incorrectly.
A normal HDTV has better picture quality than a Laser TV. A laser TV basically looks like projector, whereas the normal HDTV has HD quality picture screen for your taste.
