Is it common for my 2000 Isuzu Tooper to go through an two addional quarts of oil a month I have taken it to the shop and they say I don't have an oil leak so I'm not sure where it is going?

[Edit]

Answer

If you only use the car for short trips (three to five miles) it is possible that the engine has not gotten up to operating temperature. Newer cars are designed to run hot so the rings allow oil to pass into the combustion chamber while the engine is relatively cold. Once the temperature gets high enough they seat properly and oil stops being passing. Check the plugs for additional soot if this is the case.
