some shelters make it free but most of them sell the cats not give it away.
Even if you do get the kitten for free there are some start up costs of adopting a kitten. You have to buy dishes, food, litter pans, and cat litter; plus whatever toys and other acoutrements you deem necessary for your cat. Plus there may be vet costs as well for shots, etc.

∙ 13y agoyes, i used to work in a cat rescue centre and sometimes young kittens would come in needing milk and at one point they had another cat with milk and she adopted the kitten nd looked after it but you have to keep an eye on them just to make sure they will be ok.

∙ 13y agoIf you have the time and energy and room and if someone in your household is home often, and if you love kittens then absolutely! I've done it since I was 13 and have never looked back. Kittens enrich your life to the max! What's fun also is fostering a mother cat with newborn kittens! Once I did that...wow! 5 little kittens are adorable but also need more attention. What is easier then kittens is adult cats.
