It depends on the individual. There is something to the fact you can heal people and make them feel better, but, in reality you can't save everyone and that's something you have to get use to as a doctor. A dentist is a doctor to keep your teeth healthy and prevent other illness' of the body. If you want more action then choose being a doctor, but remember, it's hard work, and you're not going to get into action for sometime and will have to hit the books. You may have times you have doubted even entering into university to become a doctor, but keep going! Personally, we could use more doctors in the U.S. and Canada. In Canada there are only 250 doctors coming out of our Universities per year when it should be 450 doctors per year because of population growth and the Baby Boomers coming up hot and heavy. Being a doctor you will have problems with health care and probably end up working long and tough hours. You could become a GP (family doctor) and have your own office and the usual office hours. If you're into healing more than just thinking about money then you have a passion and you should follow that passion. If you don't think you can cut it then don't take up a good seat at the University when someone else could use it. Dentistry is a fine profession as well.

A Dentist is the doctor of the oral cavity and oro-facial structures. A dentist probably earns more than a pharmacist. A dentist treats patients, but a pharmacist does not. A pharmacist would be very well versed in medications, more so than dentists even though dentists prescribe drugs just like doctors. Lastly, dentists are given the courtesy title of 'Dr'. I don't think pharmacists are given that title, unless they have a PhD.

The question should be, "which one is best for me?" In order to determine that, you must first acquire a vision; a specific and clearly articulated picture of the future you intend to create for yourself. This vision should be based on a passion for what you want to do and the benefit it will bring to others as well as yourself. Once you acquire that vision, your path will become clear.

That depends on the individual and their passion for the specific field. What may be easy for one may not be easy for another. Still, to be successful in any program, the issue has less to do with difficulty, and more to do with passion; A love for what an individual wants to do.
