Anything to give yourself the upper hand in making a first good impression. Some peoples hair on their face grows faster than others. I get my 5:00 shadow at 2:00.

Some religious groups require men to have a beard, such as Sikhs and Muslims and orthodox Jews. If you are NOT part of such a religious group, shave.
On the other hand, I've had a beard for over 20 years and it is neat and tidy.
