It is not legal anywhere in the United States of America to smoke marijuana under federal law.

Some states have passed laws allowing for the medicinal use of marijuana, but most of the bills have serious wording issues which have led to legal troubles for many "legal" users.

Think of it like this. There is a dad (Federo), a 17-year old boy (Stato) and a 14-year old boy (Citizo). Citizo wants to buy a bike. Federo has already told him, "You can't have a bike." So he goes to Stato and asks him for the bike. Stato says, "I don't see any problem with you having a bike if you really need it." So he allows Citizo to buy a bike. One day, while Citizo is happily riding his bike, Federo sees him, stops him in his tracks, takes his bike and grounds him under house rules. Citizo asks Stato, "Why didn't you protect me and my right to have a bike?" Stato says, "I don't have authority over Federo...Federo has authority over me."

That's the basic problem in simple language. No, it's not legal anywhere in the USA to smoke marijuana (or vaporize it, or eat it, or inject it, or use it as a topical ointment).

HOWEVER

Some hospitals use a marijuana derivative known as Marinol on cancer and AIDS patients to induce an appetite. This is the closest thing to "legal" pot you're going to find here.
