Is it normal for a guinea pig to sneeze or should he go to the vet? |
[Edit] |
This is perrrfectly normal, he/she probably just has an allergy. Try using straw instead of hay/sawdust as its less dusty.
Answer
If it's all the time, he may need to go to the vet. If it's just an occasional sneeze, he's probably fine.
Answer
Not sure if its normal or not to be honest, got four guinea pigs here but only one seems to sneeze. He seems to be okay and not suffering, was wondering if he was suffering from hay fever? Is that possible?
Answer
Cedar woodchips as bedding make most, if not all, small fuzzy animals sneeze. Switch to pine or aspen or something other than wood shavings to stop it. If there's still sneezing, see the vet asap.
Answer
It is not normal for your pig to sneeze more than once every day/few days! I have had four guinea pigs, and I have sadly lost 3 of them to upper respatory infections. The main sign of this illness is sneezing! If your pig sneezes be sure to seperate it from all other small pets because it is EXTREMLY contagious. Take your pig right to the vet!
Answer
There are many things that can make a Piggy Sneeze, the two most common are Upper Respiratory Infections, and Allergies. If your piggy is sneezing a lot, go to the vet. The first action would be a round of antibiotics. If that doesn't work, your vet can also try putting your Piggy on a Antihistamine (Like Benadril). Hope that helps!
dont use penicllian or ambacillin
