Is it okay to paint the trim around the oven door on an electric stove and if so what kind of paint should be used?

Answer

Ovens and the area around them get very warm and paint might have a hard time staying applied over a long period of time. Also it might be difficult to prevent brush strokes.

On the other hand, Rust-Oleum makes a line of paints designed for high heat. Their paints are much more durable and would probably last. If the surface is metal, try sanding a bit to help the pain adhere, cleaning the surface well afterwards. Make sure you wear gloves for oil-based paints as they will NOT come off your hands easily!
