ABSOLUTELY NOT! Dogs and cats have totally different viruses that spread and totally different bodies. Don't sweat it if your cat has the sniffles! beachball45
The cold in humans is species-specific, meaning you cannot spread it to your dog or cat, nor can you get it from them. (I don't believe cats can catch "the sniffles" it is more of a bacterial infection.)

This depends on the actual strain of the flu in the dog. Some Infectious Diseases are capable of jumping from one speices to another. This is called zoonosis.
Always wash you hands when you have played with or touched an animal, especially if you do so around its moist parts (such as tongue and eyes) where diseases can spread from. That said, don't go hysterical :) , animals are lovely and wonderful to interact with and it supposedly increases your well-being and quality of life.
no actually it is not because you cant catch a sickness like that from any animal. so just stay safe and live a happy life!
No. the flu from humans arne't contageous to dogs.
Pet does not give cold to the owner, unless the pet is swine or chicken.
Yes they can catch a cold
I don't think so.
Dogs do catch some viruses that are contagious to humans, and vice versa. Even though dogs can share illnesses with their owners, it is not possible for a dog to share his flu (or any other illness that causes an upst stomach) with you.
No a catch isn't an animal or human. Humans can catch the flu and polio. A lot of kids die from polio and the flu.
Yes, there have been a scattered few circumstances where that did happen. They were living closely with people with the flu, in the bed with them, etc. and caught the flu from them. A few cats and ferrets also have caught it from owners living very closely with them. The symptoms in dogs are similar to those in humans or in dogs with Bordetella (Kennel Cough) or canine flu (also going around). Veterinarians suggest staying away from pets, just like from people, while you are in the contagious stages of the flu.
no hey can give you flu
Yes, it is uncommon but is possible. For example, several dogs were infected by their owners with H1N1/09 (swine flu) during the pandemic. The dogs were in very close contact with the owners much of the time. It was also reported to have spread to cats, pigs, and ferrets, as well as birds from humans. Not all types of flu share the same hosts. For example, Type B influenza has hosts from the much smaller group of humans, seals and ferrets.
Dogs cannot get most viruses carried by humans as these viruses cannot cross the species barrier. Deadly viruses like rabies can cross the barrier between species, but are more often transmitted from the dog to the human. A common misconception is that dogs can catch a cold or flu from their owners but this is untrue
Not all, and the diseases they do get from humans affect dogs in different ways. If I had, say, flu it would affect the dog differently.
There is a very good chance you will catch it. The stomach virus is very very contagious, so if you are with them for a long time you will probably contract the bacteria that causes it.
Not the human flu, but dogs are susceptible to the canine version of colds and flu (which are caused by different things) The canine flu shows symptoms very close to kennel cough but they ARE NOT the same thing. The canine flu is almost the same as horse flu, and dog flu can be described as H3N8. many dogs recover within a few weeks on their own, beware that dogs may not show symptoms but are still contagious to other dogs. Humans and dogs can not transmit flu from each other, they are different strains.
In general, no - most canine diseases are specific to canines. However, there are a few diseases that dogs can transmit to humans, and these are called zoonoses. The most commonly recognized zoonosis is rabies, but other diseases including hookworms and roundworms can also be passed from dogs to humans.
Yes. animals can get the same illnesses as humans although it is often a different strain or mutation of the disease. Take bird flu or swine flu as an example, it was the same virus but a different strain.
It is not possible for you to catch the flu through semen.
