If you have ever been pregnant yes. Some women have colustum or milk for years after. If you have never been pregnant, it doesn't happen that I'm aware of, but it may be a symptom for some women during PMS. If you are unsure, call your doctor and ask them about it.

Answer

It's normal, believe me...I've been able to do it ever since I first started my period...I was afraid it was a sign of breast cancer, so I asked and it's okay. You might want to ask a doc, just to be safe, tho.

YES!!! It happened to me, and any stimulation to the breasts may make it increase or maintain it for a long time, it happens when you have miscarried, or when your horomone levels are high, for any reason really. It does not mean pregnancy, but a positive pregnancy test does.

Colostrum extraction has no bearing on the ability to breastfeed,

Generally as long as you are able to get a good clean latch, and the baby is extracting milk properly, then you should have no problems breastfeeding at all.

Yes you can. women who have previously given birth can produce milk and feed (for example) an adopted baby. It has even been known for women who have never been pregnant to produce milk given the correct stimulus. However producing milk for no apparent reason may be casued by hyperprolactimemia and should be investigate by a doctor.

Is it normal for colostrum to come in at 25 weeks?

It is normal to get colostrum at any point during pregnancy. Your body is getting ready to feed the baby. All of this is normal for your body.

Is it normal for colostrum to change color wile pregnant it was clear when i first started getting it now it is clear with yellow spots?

Yes. Colostrum is typically a range of colors from clear to yellow to white. The golden spots you are seeing just meant the "ingredients" are different and your colostrum is likely maturing. If you are 4-6 weeks from birth, you're getting the mature colostrum that will provide your baby much needed antibodies, vitamins and nourishment.

Can you produce colostrum when your period is due?

yes some women produce small amounts of colostrum even decades after pregnancy. this is not abnormal and doesn't mean anything is wrong w/you. it doesn't only occur when a period is due. there are women who have had hysterectomies and continue to produce minute amounts when the nipples are squeezed, the breasts are stimulated, etc. if the amount increases, there is a foul odor, the color of the colostrum changes to yellow/green/blood tinged, or there is pain then you would need to see a physician. otherwise it is perfectly normal.

Can you drip a little colostrum out of your nipple 5 years later?

Yes, my son is five years old and stoped breast feeding when he was 2 almost three. I recent noticed i had colostrum in my breast. not much but a little. My doctor told me it was normal. Also if you are taking birth control it can also cause your body to produce milk. like the patch.

In a pregnant woman that is usually what is called "colostrum" which is the fluid produced by the mammary glands before the milk comes in to nurse your baby with. This occurs late in pregnancy. It is perfectly normal and is filled with vitamins and anti-bodies for newborns.

When i squeeze my nipple clear liquid is coming out but I've been gettin my period could i still be pregnant?

Probably not. Getting your period is a pretty reliable sign that you are not pregnant. It's normal to secrete small amounts of fluid from you nipples. If it seems excessive, consult your doctor. Well my daughter is 11 and she has liquid coming out of her nipples what does that mean??

What you're seeing is probably colostrum which comes in before milk; this is normal. The milk comes in a few days after the baby is born.

At 25 weeks pregnant is it safe or recommended to squeeze colostrum from your breasts regularly or should you avoid this?

It is definitely not a good idea. Any form of nipple stimulation, squeezing, sucking or pumping, can release Oxytocin which can cause contractions. At 25 weeks, this is definitely not something you want to happen. I'd don't think it's unsafe, but it's not recommended. There is no reason that you should need to do this. Your milk will come in on it's own after the baby is born. If it is getting squeezed out on accident. then it is probably OK. Just be a bit more careful, it's not at all necessary to do. I am also 25 weeks pregnant. My doctor told me not to squeeze colostrum from my nipples or even stimulate them very much, doing so can release oxitotion (I don't know the correct spelling) which can cause contractions, and lead to premature labor. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! I am 30 weeks pregnant and I was wondering the same thing cuz mine only leak if I squeeze them but my husband says that when he sucks on them he doesn't notice anything coming out so I was wondering if that's normal or not. Also if it's not ok to squeeze, suck, or pump then how come people can breast feed while pregnant and have no early contractions??
