Answer
Here is a post I found. I have no idea if it is right, but your question intrigued me. I am 35 and still fighting acne after taking Accutane 4 times!
So while not a direct answer, it may help you determine that taking Saw Palmetto might not even be needed in your case.
"Q. I have read somewhere that saw palmetto might be used to treat adult acne. I have the type that form in cysts...they're painful, and I'm 24. What do you know about this? "A. It is unlikely that saw palmetto helps acne. You may try eating more cold water fish such as halibut ans salmon, and more vegetables, while cutting back on nuts and refined carbohydrates. Omega-3 oils in fish are likely to benefit your skin. "

Answer
saw palmetto, like all common use herbs is completely safe even if taken in occasional large doses, it is only when herbs and plants are copied by scientists into synthetic models (as in many doctor's drugs) that you get side effects. We have had good success with saw palmetto for prostate problems, so give it a go for your acne, hope it works for you!
Answer
your possible cause for subaceous cysts is low thyroid function
luckily low thyroid function is one of the most easily overcome problems
take a dessicated thyroid

drenamin
drop that word in a search engine and BAM! options galore
buy it from whomever you prefer
Answer
There is no reference to saw palmetto for acne in any herbal text I can find. My concern with taking saw palmetto, especially for a teen, is that interferes with the body's use of testosterone and estrogen.
