It is not safe to drink because its toxic to the Human body its died puple so it cant be mixed with other stuff if attempted it would turn purple and it could make you blind it contain a chemical that makes it awfull to taste and makes the stoumach wrech and makes you severlly sick. DO NOT DRINK METHELATED SPIRITS.
Methylated spirits is primarily methanol - also known as wood alcohol. It is extremely destructive to the optic nerves of people. Ingesting as little as 10mls is enough to cause permanent blindness, 50mls will likely result in death. The saying "blind drunk" is unfortunately derived from the drinking of methanol.
A second reason why it is unsuitable for drinking is because the product is deliberately mixed with a poisonous substance (name escapes me) of an almost exactly the same boiling point - making it almost impossible to remove. It is because of the addition of this substance that the product carries the warning label of "poisonous", not because of the methanol content.
Clean, safe, healthy
A hair net serves two purposes,it prevents hair and scalp debris from falling off the person and contaminating the clean environment of the laboratory (and potentially damaging product. When the hair is long it prevents it becoming entangled in any moving machinery, catching fire near a flame, becoming contaminated with chemicals/oils and therefore helps the worker stay safe.
Isopropyl alcohol is safe for aluminium.
Natural gas is abundent, cheap, clean, and relatively safe.
Yes, it is safe to do so. The ideal solution is roughly 1/3 rubbing alcohol and 2/3 water, and a drop or two of dish soap.
yes i believe it is safe for the face so long as it doesn't get near the eyes. it is a good disinfectant too!
Define "safe"."Methylated spirits" is an archaic term for what's usually and more properly referred to as "denatured alcohol". Denatured alcohol is ethanol that has been rendered undrinkable (and usually poisonous, by which I mean "even more poisonous than ethanol", since ethanol itself is somewhat toxic) by the addition of toxic or noxious compounds. Traditionally the toxic compound of choice was methanol, which is significantly more toxic than ethanol itself. So, to recap: you've got a substance that is itself toxic, and which has been made even more toxic by the addition of other compounds. And your question is whether or not it's safe to pour this into an open wound.(That said: not all denaturing formulas use compounds that are actually poisonous; some of them just use compounds that taste really bad. Also, you're not hooking up an IV bag and pouring in a couple liters, you're pouring a small amount over the wound. If methylated spirits were the only thing I had and the choice was between that or not cleaning the wound at all, then using the methylated spirits is probably the safer of the two choices.)
No. Rubbing alcohol is 70% ethyl alcohol, methylated spirits is closer to 90% so much stronger.
Same reason doctors are clean, to keep the pets safe from infection and to be safe.
