Very likely, yes. The only theoretical concerns with soymilk lie in the fact that soy is high in isoflavones and phyto-estrogens, plant hormones which act as weak estrogens in the body. Trying to determine their exact effect has been difficult. One study linked levels of soy consumption of the pregnant mother inversely to the male child's penis size- the more soy consumed during pregnancy, the smaller the penis, but this was only an observational study, not an experimental one, so it's not known if the soy actually caused a reduction in penis size, or if other factors were at play. Again, it's not as though the study could pinpoint soy as the cause for these findings. A moderate soy intake will probably not cause any trouble. Consult your OBGYN if you have any other questions.
Soy can supress thyroid function and eating soy products can also adversely affect digestion. Traditionally, soy was almost always eaten in a fermented form and this made it healthy to eat in small amounts. Tofu now and again is okay for most people and was originally eaten by monks. There are numerous storys on the internet of peoples health being severely affected by eating lots of soy, ususally problems with their thyroid gland or heart. I have a relative that this happened to. I would caution anyone, pregant or not, to do a thourough search on the internet before eating unfermented soy products (other than occassional tofu).
soya and corn products are genetically monitored. they do have a label saying that it is genetically monitored product. gm products can have serious health problems later in life. atleast they have not had the required time to research before it is in the market. so a guarded approach to eating these products would be advisable.
