We had some 13 months past the expiry date but as it wasn't moldy or didn't smell bad we used it and it was fine. Our rule now for such stuff is "look and smell" if it looks alright and deosn't smell bad we use it !
The date on the package is not an expiration date. It is a best-if-used-by date. Depending how it has been stored and how far past the best-by date, the mix could be just fine. Or it might not rise as high or it might be a bit stale. Whether or not you use it is up to you.

The packages I have don't have an expiration date. They have a "best if used by" date, mm/dd/yy.
There's a best by date on every package I buy. They won't have an 'expiration date' because the mix doesn't 'expire'.
