Is it safe to ship a Plasma TV on a airplane?

In: HDTV

Shipping Plasma TV By Air

It probably is. Why? The plasma screen operates at a partial vacuum, and in the freight compartment of a commercial jet liner, the atmospheric pressure is also at a partial vacuum.

I'd be more concerned about the handling of it when you ship it, so pack it well.

Better yet, call your air carrier and ask their advice. They may have restrictions on certain types of electronics equipment.
