Hello. Well, you can have a facial depending on the treatment you're considering. If you're having a facial that includes things like dermabrasion, etc., I wouldn't do it. It also depends on what you are trying to achieve with the skin; during pregnancy your hormone levels are substancially higher than usual and therefore treatments may have unpredictable effects. When it comes to treating acne it can prove to be a little difficult. It may reduce the redness and irritation of acne, but you are better off waiting 'til you have had the baby and until you've ceased breastfeeding. Also, be wary of using any aromatherapy oils; sometimes they can cause problems during pregnancy. If you're getting a facial professionally, then the aesthetician should know the ins and outs of facials for pregnant women. If you have any more questions please contact me as I have been doing beauty therapy and I am also recognised in skin rejuvenation, etc., so please don't hesitate to ask. Thank You.
It is safe to have facials while pregnant. Be sure to let your esthetician know that you are expecting. They should not use any treatments with electricity (high frequency, galvanic, etc.) I would recommend that you avoid chemical peels. Depending how far along you are you may want consider bringing a pillow for under your knees to take the stress off your lower back. It is safe to have facials while pregnant. Yes it is safe, but make sure the esthetician or therapist doesn't use it anywhere else besides your face. The machines used for ultrasound facials are about 1/10 to 1/5 the strength of the machines used in medical imaging and just use high frequency sound waves - which bombard just the specific area you are treating. In other words, they don't go as deep into the body and don't travel around. If it makes you nervous though, don't do it.
Yes it is perfectly safe, doctors use transvaginal ultrasounds on pregnant women all the time, especially early in the pregnancy.
