He had appeared in uniform with others at a news conference to protest the president's inaction on his complaints against the Navy. The event was in Lafayette Square, just across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House. Klingenschmitt said he was merely offering a public prayer. The military prosecutor said Klingenschmitt had been ordered not to wear his uniform at media events or political protests, and that the event was not a true worship service. A jury of five officers found him guilty of disobeying a lawful order and punished him with a reprimand and temporary reduction in pay. He left the Navy soon after.
Chain letters and emails have since circulated, claiming that the administration had attempted to prevent Navy chaplains from mentioning Jesus in prayers, and placing it in the administration of President Obama instead of President George W. Bush.
They are chaplains so they are not forbidden to use the name of Jesus.
Navy ships have Chaplains as well as chaplains. They have a Chaplian for every major religon so everyone is able to pratice there religon.

Sort of - the rules for not saying Jesus name have been around for a little while I think - but the new Administration (If you still consider it new 3 years in) probably has no problem with it. I'm sure Obama loves political correctness and secularization. at least - he indicates as much by his words and actions.

The United States Marine Corp is part of the Department of the Navy they don't have there own Department. Many of the people that work with the Marine Corps are actually Navy personnel. Corpsman, chaplains, JAG, dentists, doctors and nurses are actually Naval personnel assigned to work with the Marines, so they often continue to wear Navy uniforms and are issued Navy equipment.
while there is always inter-service rivalry, the Marines and the Navy work well together to accomplish their missions. The Navy also provides a great deal of support to the Marine Corps in the form of medical help, doctors, nurses, corpsmen, chaplains, JAG and liaison staff. And the Navy provides the ship transportation to land the Marines at their destination.

I do not see why not, if leaders of other faiths can use the name of their Gods. Please see Micah 4.5. - " For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever."

A Medic, actually a Navy Hospital Corpsman. They are USN personnel attached to a specific unit in the Marines. The Marines do not have their own medical staff. Corpsmen, as well as Doctors, Nurses, Naval Gunfire Liaison Officers and Chaplains are assigned from the Navy. Officers have the choice of wearing Navy or Marine Corps uniforms. In the field, everyone wears Marine Corps uniforms.
