In the Army, you either go through Basic Combat Training and then Advanced Individual Training, or else you go through One Station Unit Training - it depends on your MOS. Boot Camp is the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
Typically, you won't be allowed to drink milk - BCT/OSUT is a highly physical thing, and you really don't want to be drinking milk, which can lead to vomiting in the duration of intense physical activity. Vomiting has a dehydrating effect, hence, they don't want you drinking milk.

This is true, however when I went through OSUT we were allowed to drink milk. We had to have 2 drinks, one always being water and the other being a juice or 2% milk. They wouldn't let us drink the chocolate milk because of the extra fat content apparently...even though it wasn't that much of a difference.

Yes, you can quit. Not really, The day you take that oath, is the day you make the commitment for service. Boot camp is hard for everyone, your not the only one. There are certain things that can have you removed from basic training, but you cant just say you quit and leave. So no you cant just quit

Nowadays not much. There is a program called Boot Camp that will let you run Windows on a Mac and once you have that you can pretty much do anything you want to do on a PC on a Mac.

It's made to teach you how to learn and be adaptable and to get you prepared for military life. If you cant be disciplined, you wont do very well in any MOS. Marine Corps boot camp is made to break you and build you back up into a confident individual. after boot camp you will attend the school of the MOS you chose and after completion of that school you would attend the school of infantry because the Marine Corps beleives every man is a rifleman. boot camp wont teach you how to do infantry tactics. but like the message below says, they teach you the BASICS so you cant get started. To learn the basics of being an infantryman. The infantry is the "base" of the US Army. All other branches (MOS's) are designed to support the infantry: Armor provides shock action, Artillery provides firepower, Aviation provides support, transportation & firepower, Military Policemen provide security, Engineers provide support, etc. it smacks the civilian out of you and puts military discipline in you. they break you then remold you into a soilder.
How do you get out of the army before boot camp?
Tell your recruiter you want out. Regardless of what he's said, even if you've signed the Oath of Enlistment, if you're in the Dep, you can get out. If he won't listen to you, go past him and up the chain of command. Trust me, pull the strings and they cant touch you.

if he cant show a uniform to prove it. if hes a disrespectful slack-jaw. if he cant tell you were he went to boot camp. if he cant tell you were he was stationed at what time and what his dutys were when he was there. if hes a skinny boy or fat man. marines usually have big muscles, short haircuts, they are respectful and lots of cursing comes from a marines mouth unless hes religous.
