it will start on fire my eighth grade science teacher showed us and it was amzaing but dangerous. he only used liked a dime sized peice but it blew up to like a 2 foot fire!
ok no it wouldn't catch on fire?? were talking about solubilty!
Yes. It dissolves easily and is found in sea water along with sodium chloride and other things.
Just because a compound is a salt does not mean it will dissolve in water. When in doubt, check books like the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics (which unfortunately shows no entry in the solubility column). Copper phosphate is also a salt but it is insoluble in water. For the record a website "Solubility of things" says magnesium chloride is highly soluble in water but I would still check either CRC or its MDMS.
Yes, you can find solubility rules like these:
1. All alkali metal (lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, and cesium) and ammonium compounds are soluble.
2. All acetate, perchlorate, chlorate, and nitrate compounds are soluble.
3. Silver, lead, and Mercury(I) compounds are insoluble.
4. Chlorides, bromides, and iodides are soluble.
5. Carbonates, hydroxides, oxides, phosphates, silicates, and sulfides are insoluble.
6. Sulfates are soluble except for calcium and barium.
By rule two magnesium acetate is soluble. Follow these rules but if two disagree follow the first one listed. For example If rule 3 says insoluble but rule 4 says soluble go with rule 3. Always the first one listed.
A more specific example is AgCl. Rule 3 overtakes rule 4 so it is insoluble.

Magnesium does not dissolve in water. Magnesium will react with steam:
Mg (s) + 2H2O(g) -> Mg(OH)2(aq) + H2(g)
Compounds of Magnesium are soluble in water.
Yes, it is highly soluble in water.

Yes, it is
98% poo and 1% magnesium and 1% chlorate.
You use a solubility table. Potassium chlorate is soluble in water. Refer to the related links for a solubility table.
Almost all salts containing potassium are soluble, including KClO3 (potassium chlorate).
Magnesium hydroxide is more soluble in an acidic solution.

Magnesium nitrate is soluble in water.
Sodium chlorate is very soluble in water.

No. Magnesium oxide is not soluble in water. On contact with water it will form magnesium hydroxide.
