Answer:
Why is there something rather than nothing? Is there free will or is every action determined by causes? Was the universe created or has it always existed? Are there spiritual beings? Is there life after death? What is the nature of the universe, of substance, causality, etc.? These are all metaphysical questions.
==new answer== I do not consider metaphysics a religion but am not offended when someone refers to it in this way. I am a metaphysician. During my studies, I read a paper written by a wise person who look forward to a time when metaphysics would be considered the ole time religion.

NEW ANSWER
No Metaphysics is not a religion but a philosophical school which is studied as part of the formation of Catholic Seminarians and so is part of religion. (I am aware others use it too, but this was just an example to prove a point.
