Is modifying genes playing at God and should be stopped?

If Science can correct the mistakes of god, why not?

==new answer== Don't worry. Science in any form will not be able to make a soul. They may eventually make a body for a soul to use. Once you understand that we are more than this physical body, many concerns will clear up. A soul enters the body usually within 24 hour on either side of the physical birth. It is at this point that an entity commits to a particular physical body to use for it's lifetime here. From a time of birth reading taken from the akashic records I know that my body was six hours old before I committed to it. The akashic records are stored in subconscious mind and hold the record of thought and action for all time.
I appreciate what science is doing on many fronts. Since I don't know how to do everything yet, I like being able to depend on others who do know the things I don't.
I don't remember who wrote this but it fits here-" We cannot yet make a worm and yet we are making gods by the dozens. I like this because we were created in God's imagination, not the other way around.
