No, she's not being strict. My mother is the exact same way. She's just being protective. Malls can be frightening and unsafe places. Don't get in fights with her, because that will just further push her towards over-protectiveness. There's nothing wrong with her caring. Would you rather she didn't care, and you got mugged, or raped? Show her you can be responsible with little steps at a time. Good luck!
