The Metropolitan Hotel, Washington, D.C., is located on Pennsylvania Ave. within ten minutes' walk of the U. S. Capitol, It was built in 1855 upon the site of the famous Indian Queen Tavern, Price's and Brown's Hotel by the same contractor who built the Capitol, and the marble used in its construction is a portion of the same used in the Capitol. It contains 160 rooms and is thoroughly modern in equipment and appointmen.
