Yes, the "Security Master AV" virus goes by many names, a common theme is the word "packupdate" followed by random numbers.
Here is a video of the attack site in action delivering the virus payload and how it accomplishes it by looking like a system window and getting you to press OK:

I have just avoided opening packupdate107_289.exe
My web browser suddenly said my computer was at risk and showed flashing
"9 viruses found" under My Documents etc... but it was just a hoax.
The webpage shows a picture of Explorer showing viruses in your folders, and suggests you download packupdate107_289.exe immediatley to fix it!
I downloaded it... but didn't open it until I had updated virus software and run a scan.
As I suspected! The scan flagged up packupdate107_289.exe as a virus and has quarantined it!
If you did open it after downloading it, read this advice:

If you downloaded and installed an executable named "packupdate *** ****.exe" then you just got fooled into downloading the "Security Master AV" Virus. It probably prevented you from accessing the internet. And it just did everything in it's power to prevent you from removing it. The trick is that this virus masquerades as the solution to your troubles, having you send money to the attackers and then they undo the damage they just did to your computer. No doubt the delivery method was convincing, with the browser window flashing warnings and prompting you to press OK and if you press cancel it tricks you into downloading it anyway. Here is a video of the attack site in action delivering the Security Master AV virus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuYdLlc48iI The website delivering the virus keeps changing its name so that the "report web forgery" functionality protecting users only works for a short time. Had this been a more serious virus, your computer would be toast. People have accidentally downloaded viruses (packaged with other programs) that completely damage all the data on a computer so that it won't even boot up. Take a deep breath, your computer is not toast with this virus. The good news is that this is a well known virus and you can remove it with any legitimate Antivirus program like Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky, Webroot, and other anti virus programs. These legitimate applications will scan every one of your files and attempt to undo the damage the virus has done and plug the back doors that the virus has opened. However, as the attackers write better and better viruses, you may have to do more to thwart it. Here is more details about removing this specific virus: http://www.fasterpccleanclean.com/remove-security-master-av After a break-in like this, there is always the possibility that someone is feeding your computer commands over the internet. To fully recover with 100% assurance you are safe, a full Operating System reinstall is required.
