There is no evidence to confirm any story of Genesis. It all depends on what you believe.

It should be a fact, if it was scientificully correct.

The Bible speaks about the creation of the universe.

In the beginning, 1st Book, Book of Genesis, 1st Ch., it is mentioned - It says…

'Almighty God created the Heavens and the Earth, in six days and talks about a evening and a morning, referring to a 24 - hour day.

Today scientists tell us, that the universe cannot be created in a 24 hour period of six days.

Point No.2 -Bible says in Genesis Ch. No. 1 Verses No. 3 and 5,…'Light was created on the first day.'

Genesis, Ch., 1 Verses, 14 to 19… 'The cause of light - stars and the sun, etc. was created on the fourth day'.

How can the cause of light be created on the 4th day - later than the light which came into existence on the first day? - It is unscientific.

Further, the, Bible says Genesis, Ch. 1, Verses 9 to 13… 'Earth was created on the 3rd day. How can you have a night and day without the earth ? The day depends upon the rotation of the Earth Without the earth created, how can you have a night and day? Point No..4,Genesis, Ch. No. 1 Verses 9 to 13 says…

'Earth was created on the third day.'

Genesis Ch. No. 1 Verses 14 to 19 says…'The Sun and the Moon were created on the fourth day.'

Today science tells us… 'Earth is part of the parent body… the sun.' It cannot come into existence before the sun - It is unscientific.

Point No. 5,the Bible says in Genesis, Ch. No.1, Verse No. 11 to 13…'The vegetation, the herbs the shrubs, the trees - they were created on the 3rd day And the Sun,

Genesis, Ch. No. 1, Verses. 14 to 19, was created on the 4th day. How can the vegetation come into existence without sunlight, and how can they survive without sunlight ?

Point No.6,that the Bible says in Genesis, Ch. 1, Verses No.16, that…'God created two lights the greater light, the Sun to rule the day, and the lesser light the Moon, to rule the night. The actual translation, if you go to the Hebrew text, it is 'lamps'…

'Lamps having lights of its own.' And that you will come to know better, if you read both the Verses - Genesis, Ch. No.1, Verse. 16, as well as 17.

Verse No.17 says…'And Almighty God placed them in the firmament, to give light to the earth… To give light to the earth.' Indicating, that Sun and the Moon has its own light -

which is in contradiction with established scientific knowledge that we have.

There are certain people who try and reconciliate, and say that the six days mentioned in the Bible, it actually refers to epocs -

It clearly states 24 hours, it indicates.

But even if I use the concordance approach - no problem.

I agree with your illogical argument - Yet they will only be able to solve the 1st scientific error of 6 days creation, and second, of first day 'light' and 3rd day 'earth.' The remaining four, yet they cannot solve.

Some further say that…

'If it is a 24-hour period, why cannot the vegetables survive for one 24 hour day without sunlight?'

I say 'Fine - If you say that the vegetables were created before the sun, and can survive for one 24-hour day, I have got no objection. But you cannot say the days mentioned are 24 hours as well as epochs - You cannot have the cake and eat it, both.

If you say it is long period, you solve Point No.1 and 3, the remaining 4 are yet there. If you say the days are 24 hours day, you solve only Point No.5 - the remaining 5 are yet there - It becomes unscientific.Regarding the concept of Earth, there are various Scientists who have described… 'How will the world end.' Hypothesis - Some may be right, some may be wrong. But either the world will perish or the world will live forever. Both cannot take place simultaneously - It is unscientific. But this is exactly what the Bible says.It is mentioned in the Bible, in the book of Hebrews, Ch. No.1 Verses No.10 and 11, and the book of Psalms, Ch. No.102, Verse No.25 and 26, that…'Almighty God created the Heavens and the Earth, and they will perish.'Exactly opposite is mentioned in the book of Ecclesiastics, Ch. No.1, Verse No.4, and the book of Psalms, Ch. No.78, Verse No.69, that… 'The earth will abide forever.'which of the two Verses are unscientific?- the first pair or the second pair? One has to be unscientific - Both cannot take place. The world cannot abide forever as well as perish - It is unscientific.Regarding 'the Heavens',the Bible says in Job, Ch. 26, Verse 11, that…'The pillars of the Heaven will tremble.'Qur'an says in Surah Luqman, Ch. 31, Verse No.10, that…'The Heavens are without any pillars - Don`t you see? Don't you see the Heavens are without any pillars? -Bible says heaven have got pillars. Not only do the Heavens have got pillars - Bible says in the first book of Samuel, Ch. No.2 Verses No.8, as well as the book of Job Ch. No.9, Verse No.6, and the book of Psalms Ch. No.75, Verse No.3, that… 'Even the earth have got pillars

The account of Genesis is fact. It is supported by science. Many alleged errors are merely misunderstandings of the intention of the author, or taken out of context, or not understanding the difference between a figure of speech and a literal account.

Religion is fact

AnswerThe fact of religion is very clear: since the beginning of recorded history, and even via artifacts found before then, religion has played a central role in every civilization.

If you are asking whether religion is fact or fiction in regard to its truth, this is too broad a question. Religion has taken many forms and interpretations. As a definition, religion is basically man's relationship with the Divine. Due to the nature of Truth, only one religion could be all true, or none of them, or perhaps each religion contains a shard(s) of truth to whatever degree. People often immediately flock to science for an answer. Science is of minor use in this inquiry as science deals only with observable phenomena. But the philosophical consideration of God, or the study of His existence, is not a scientific question. Another obstacle to this inquiry is modern man's attitude of tolerance and even acceptance of all religions - to the degree that they do not cause harm to others, of course. Practically this is a good policy, but mentally it paralyzes the mind's ability to be discerning. Philosophically, because truth is exclusive and intolerant of all error, only one of these religions has the possibility of being true. To discern which one of these religions might be true one can take several approaches. The primary philosophically approach is to make an inquiry into the nature of supernatural, or that which is beyond the physical world or "metaphysics". Using the fact of existence as a base, one must ask what is existence, how is it sustained, how do things participate in it, etc. From the understanding of existence one can start to piece together what is "Being in itself" (basically, "God") and work out which religions properly understand metaphysics. Those that contradict the reality of metaphysics are fictitious, since the nature of Being or God cannot be contradictory. One must take care and be very critically minded in this inquiry as many complex and simple religions can be surprising in how accurate theirs beliefs are as conveyed through their creeds. Many things that can be dismissed at a superficial reading, creation tales for instance, are not grounds for elimination. For example, the Native American concept of the Great Spirit creating the world by opening its hands and the Christian tradition of God making all things from His Will are the same expression of omnipotence.

Another way to approach the question is from religions themselves. Since truth is unable to contradict itself, you can examine the truths of religions to check that they do not discredit themselves based on the nature of truth alone. This is a very time consuming task and not practical for most, although some contradictions are very easy to spot.

Another way is to look at supernatural events or miracles. Scientists are interested in these insofar as it gives science a chance to observe something related to religion. There are, however, many scientists and people who are crippled in this inquiry. Those who are strict empiricists, who view the world as all material, are not open to the possibility of a miracle. This is not a scientific mindset: this is a philosophical one, and one that was probably concluded without intense philosophical inquiry. Their science, therefore, is already biased. Religions often have traditions of miracles or signs that the divine transmits as markers of its influence, truth or direction for men. Many miracles are debunked. There are some, however, that people research and conclude that its effect or reality is unknown, some are so impressed as to declare that the event is beyond the laws of the natural world. Often miracles are used as testaments of a religion's truth, at least this is how people understand them, and a single miracle can lead to a person joining that religion. The reverse is that if a popular miracle is debunked, it can lead to many leaving that religion. In the case of an event that defies science, scientists at best can say they do not know and the reaction is left to each person regarding how they will receive it.

One of the ways of fast-tracking the process is to find religions that declare they are true. Religions that are exclusive and intolerant mirror the attitude of truth, which by definition is exclusive and intolerant to error. Religions that are accepting of other contradictory views - however nice and politically correct that is - refute themselves by trying to validate contradictory evidence, or basically, by say a thing is and is not at the same time.

I personally believe that religion is not only a fact but that one of them is true. I arrived at this conclusion by doing all of the processes above. The above processes, however, are not how most people choose. Often those who embrace religion do so intuitively. They do not need to be told or convinced by arguments; they simply know there is a God, or a way of belief and they embrace it. Some are born into a religion and it simply seems more probable to them that their religion happens to be true than not. Some atheists, paradoxically, put down religion as fiction out of pure faith that there is nothing out there or because of scientific inquiry, which is a bias as explained above. Those convinced of the fact of religion, and those that are not, ultimately have come to such conclusions through a variety of inquiries and experiences, which are impossible to communicate.

AnswerReligion is a fact but the question is if the theological information is spiritually authentic or poetically fictitious. The fact is simply that any religion which purports to be authentic must demonstrate this fact by maintaining absolute consistency in the propagation of this information. Any religion that surreptitiously manipulates its Divinely ordained and sanctioned cultures to make it more appealing or marketable to a less gullible audience is absolutely fictitious.

Any religion which claims that their God is engrossed with fickle human emotions and tendencies is definitely fictitious. Any religion which is used to terrorize, enslave, plunder and devastate is absolutely fictitious. Any religion that assigns superior and inferior human rights to people based upon ethnicity, gender, age, wealth, intelligence and influence is absolutely fictitious. Any religion that contributes to unprovoked wars and brutality in the rapacious pursuit of egocentric aggrandizement is scornfully and disgustingly fictitious.

AnswerReligion is myth

Virtually everything in the Old Testament is untrue and only maybe .01% of what is told in the New Testament is even remotely true.

  • Many people believe that it is an accurate account of the story of the creation of the Earth and its contents - plant and animal and human
  • Many others believe it is a not-very-accurate account, but true in its major points
  • Many others think it is not true at all.

There is no evidence which proves it to be true, and nothing which proves it to be untrue in its major points.

It depends on your religious beliefs, you may or may not choose to believe it is true bases on your faith.

Some people prefer not to interpret the Genesis story literally. They say that the Earth was not created in six, literal, 24 hour days, but that it was created by God over long periods of time because God is timeless. Some Christians also prefer to just look at the Genesis story as an allegory with religious principles, and not to be taken as a literal event.
