Is running out of gas bad for a car?

Yes, it is horrible, especially if you have fuel injectors. I drive a 99 Cadillac STS and I ran out of gas and my car stopped running. I put gas in it, but that wasn't enough so I thought maybe I needed a jump. But basically I messed up my fuel injectors and couldn't get my car started. The bill : About 700 dollars to get it all fixed, which included new fuel injectors, the towing fee, a new filter, and an oil change. :-( If someone told me that ALL of THAT would be an outcome of just running out of gas, I would never have let that happen.
