The solution you buy for contacts is saline...but it is buffered. If that is not available...plain saline is OK but can be irriting to the eye.
saline solution is salted water with 0.85% of salt
saline solution (the isotonic solution of sodium chloride and distilled water)
you could use water, however it doesnt work as well.
You may use water. It will feel funny..it will also be very sticky. When you finally get Solution take your contacts and soak them in the Solution for a couple hours.
