Is smarTours a reputable company?

Answer:
No, not at all. Find out for yourself by reading their terms of service. Trip pricing is variable until you actually send them the complete trip payment (this is due at least 75 days prior to departure for all trips). "Once final payment is made your price is locked in and prices are no longer subject to change."

There is a non-refundable deposit of $300/person, so be very very careful when signing up for a trip months and months in advance - if you change your mind you are down a good bit of money. They do have a trip-change policy though: each time you make a change to your trip it costs $150 per change. Also, trip reservations are non-transferable, so once again be careful!

If you really want to see what kind of a company smarTours is, just call their customer service and ask them questions about a trip. If your phone call only lasts a minute then you will most likely have avoided the rudest customer service reps I have ever dealt with. Their website isn't too thorough in covering some important trip details - so if you really need to call them, then be prepared to have your head chewed off.
