The Big Bang Model has survived every test that has been put up against it, starting with the existence and the spectrum of the cosmic background microwave radiation. To say it is "nonsense" is the intellectual equivalent of saying that Newton's law of gravity is nonsense.
Bearing in mind that it is a scientific theory as opposed to a hypothesis, the Big Bang idea is called a theory because it has met all challenges and withstood them, fits all evidence and explains the phenomenon in question quite easily. It is as real as anything can be. <><><> Let me appeal to readers in general. A theory is a theory. One might legitimately consider a theory incorrect or inaccurate. Religious conservatives clearly consider the theory to be wrong. But it remains a theory nonetheless. At some point, it may be widely held that the theory is completely debunked by the evidence. But at present what we call the 'big bang' is indeed a real theory. This also is an astronomy question, and conservative religious beliefs, however carefully researched and documented, do not inform the answer in any meaningful way. <><><> As is true with many controversial theories now and throughout the history of science, there is evidence that argues against the 'big bang', but the truth will become clearer and clearer over time. <><><> As the answer above clearly states, a theory is a theory. People shouldn't be over-reacting if they don't believe it isn't true. It is just a theory! As to answering your question, there is a very, extremely huge possibility it is true. All of the universe was within a small "ball", nothing existed yet. For some odd reason, the ball exploded and let out all of it's cosmic energy, soon to be creating the universe. However, as some people say "It's not true! It was created by God!". I completely respect them, for I have the same idea as well. However, they do not KNOW this. This is what they guess. But without God, they are right, there would be no science or probably no universe. Perhaps he was the one that stored the energy into that ball? Maybe he was the one that wanted to create new life, so he exploded the tiny cosmic ball? Until we meet up with him in our death beds one day, we will never truly know. So yes, the theory is pretty true. Although they are not 100% sure, there is a large amount of evidence. <><><> There are discussioncontributions that add some religious points of view to this astronomy question.
The Big Bang is a theory - it has yet to be proven either way. Everybody has their own opinion on whether it is nonsense or not.
Yes. The big bang is completely false; God created the planets and the world, and there is no such thing as the big bang.
Well actually, the planets were created by gigantic duststorms shooting through space... but the big bang is total nonsense
Yes Big Bang is a misnomer. It wasn't big and it wasn't a bang.
According to the believes of physics and the big bang, we know that the big bang was both big and a bang. Since we are still receiving radiation from the big bang, So considering that factor I would say that it was big and a bang. What do you believe?
Big Bang theorist believe
Everything that ever happened - or at least, everything we know of - happened after the Big Bang, and was, in a way, affected by the Big Bang.
why did Stephen discover the big bang theory
Unclear as there is no way to know what happened before the big bang, or even if there was a "before the big bang".

The big bang created itself.
