Best Answer

A CRT (cathode ray tube) is an analog component. Images are created by continuously varying the electron beam current which in turn changes the intensity of the phosphor light output. Additionally, the beam is scanned from left to right and from top to bottom using analog drive circuitry. Most televisions and monitors that use them are also fully analog but be aware that there are also televisions and monitors that accept and display digital video signals.

Does a computer monitor produce a digital or analog picture?

It depends on your monitor. The big old CRT monitors are analog. The computer sends digital information to the monitor but it then gets turned into analog so the monitor can display that information. Why does the color on the tv keeps going red?

You didn't specify if it was an analog or digital TV. For analog, it's a shorted red gun in the CRT that usually causes the problem or the loss of the blue and green from bad video cable connections. For digital, the most common cause is loose video cable connections.
