Is the Headless Horseman real?

Answer

The Headless Horseman is a fictional ghost charactor from The legend of Sleepy Hollow, by Washington Irving.
It is possible that he based his charactor on a German Legend of the Hessian Horsemen, but it is still just a legend
In the story Ichabod Cranes Rival dresses up as the horseman to scare Ichabod but in the end you are left wondering if it was him or the real spirit
