The Insitution of Mechanical Engineers (India) ,Navi Mumbai is Recognised by the Ministry of HRD , Govt. of India .

The syllabus of following Degree & Diploma Examinations in Mechanical Engineering conducted by the I.Mech.E(I) are approved by the AICTE :

1)DEGREE LEVEL : Chartered Engineers Examination [A.M.I.Mech.E(I)]

2)DIPLOMA LEVEL : Technician Engineers Examination [T.Eng.]

The AICTE have no direct powers & is not authorised to recognized the Technical Courses conducted by the Technical Professional Societies in the Country.

The MHRD,Govt. of India decides the recognition of these courses after getting the syllabus of these courses approved by the AICTE.

As per the Honorable Supreme Court Judgment in case of Civil Appeal No. 2056 of 1999.D/-24-9-2001 (Bharathidasan University and another Appellants V. All India Council for Technical Education and others, Respondents), for a University running / conducting technical courses / programmes, approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is not necessary.

Lovely Professional University (LPU) is duly recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) .

LPU is included in the list of universities maintained by the University Grants Commission ,It can be checked on UGC's website.

As per supreme court order University conducting technical programmes, approval AICTE is not necessary.
