There was a lot of discussion and different answers to this question, most of them completely unsubstantiated and unresearched, or mere opinions. Apologies to those deletion and rewriting offends.
Cornelia Funke sold the film rights of all three books (Inkheart, Inkspell and Inkdeath) in 2004 to New Line Cinema. The first, Inkheart, was released in 2009 and as yet the other two books have not been adapted.
According to early reports in the New York Times, production on a Real-D 3D Inkspell had already begun and a release date of July 7, 2012 was stated; however as of 26 September 2010 the production status is unknown, as are specific details about the cast and crew.
Obviously until the production status of Inkspell is defined, started, confirmed and finally finished; no one can know if Inkdeath will become a movie.
In any case, production of a second movie would be difficult and possibly unsatisfying to fans; as the producers would somehow have to continue the Inkheart movie's ending (different to that of the book) where Dustfinger returns to the Inkworld.
In the film representation of Inkheart, all loose ends are neatly tied up; however in the novel they were not - Dustfinger stayed in the real world with Farid, Mortola and Basta disappeared and nobody knew how Meggie's story would end. According to the author's note in Inkspell, this was in fact what inspired Funke to write another novel and then finish with a third.
It is possible that the descrepancies between the first book and movie have hampered production, however mixed reviews for the first movie may also be a reason for the delay.
Unfortunately nobody knows yet.
The movie/book Inkheart is about a father who has the ability to read stuff out of books and/or off of something someone has written down.during the duration his daughter finds out that she has the same ability and where her mom is and they are being chased around by Capricorn and basta and dustfinger yadda ,yadda ,yadda. If u really want 2 get everything u need 2 read the book before u watch the movie.but u should be a pretty good reader b cuz it is a thick book and i read it .it is a magnifecent book but it will take some time 2 read.
ink heart didn't even come out on DVD yet. if ink heart did really good then they will - this was said on April 15 2009
I heard that they are making both Inkspell and Inkdeath movies.
inkheart is out on dvds and inkspell is a movie released in 2009
There is speculation but nobody knows for sure. If they do an Inkspell movie they would have to do some quick thinking, as the ending of Inkheart was changed for the movie to give it a proper ending. So far however there have been no confirmed plans to make a second movie and one would assume they changed the ending so as not to have to.
it is not a movie, and so far there's not any news on a film adaptation of the book. they might choose to make inkspell and inkdeath into movies, but then again they might not.
Inkheart is a movie
Inkspell isn't involved at all. Just Inkheart.
No, when Inkheart was created as a movie, most of the people did not enjoy it so they will not make another movie of the ink trilogy.
Inkheart is about the adventures of a 12-year-old girl named Meggie Folchart when she discovers that her father can bring characters and items from books into the real world.
It all depends on if you think they look like the characters. ;)
According to The New York Times, the movie Inkspell has already been announced.
Yes, Inkspell is now a movie and it is out on DVD! Its stars Brendan Fraser and Eliza Bennett.
No, when Inkheart was first released into a movie. Most of the people disliked it so they will not make any more movies of the Inkworld trilogy. (I wish there WAS Inkspell and Inkdeath the movie:( )
No, only Inkheart was made into a movie.
If you ask me they made Inkheart into basically 2 of the 3 books. So I don't think they will be making Inkspell. Maybe Inkdeath though.
Inkspell was created in 2005.
Its Inkheart Inkspell Inkdeath
Yes. The New York Times has already announced the release date.
Inkspell was released on October 1, 2005
Inkheart came first...and then Inkspell.
if you mean the inkspell book then it's already out. if you mean the film then there might be an inkspell film they don't know yet.
Inkspell was first written in German.
