Yes the president is elected by the voters of the U.S.
Actually... no, the president is not elected by voters.
The President is Elected by the Electoral Votes from each state...
the voters don't really have a say. Our Jeffersonian democracy
is designed to protect the rights of slaveowning landholders.
The Electoral college still exists today. There is no democracy in America.
Note: Even when a president is elected, the President and VP have no real power.
Since the Reagan administration, the National Security Council has veto power over our president and his VP. These nonelected economic appointees are the real power in America. They select and enforce our domestic and foreign agendas.

No. The Electoral College votes for the US president. The Electoral College has a choice of candidates in turn elected by the party conventions. The conventions' delegates and superdelegates choose from winners of various primaries. The winners of those primaries have already been chosen from a handful of those who have survived elimination throughout various state and local political 'machines'. Therefore, the people of the US have virtually no actual choice in presidential elections; the realelections have already happened months and years earlier.
No, the United States of America elects a president by an indirect voting system in which officers called electors are elected by direct vote and the electors in turn actually elect a president.
no. There are several good reasons why this is not done, the most obvious being the possibility that massive vote fraud in just a few states could tip the election and/or produce an endless series of rancorous recounts and lawsuits.
Alternative perspective: Yes, the President should be elected by direct popular vote. With the current system, most states are almost irrelevant, except for fundraising. It is a foregone conclusion, even before the nominees are chosen, that certain states will vote for the Republican and certain other states will vote for the Democrat. Direct popular vote is the only way to make each voter's choice equally important. Since the current system already produces an endless series of rancorous recounts and lawsuits, direct popular vote would be a substantial improvement.
both
The U.S. President is directly elected by the electoral college and indirectly elected by the people of the states of the U.S.
In November of every fourth year, the people of each state elect members to the electoral college, and in December of the same years the electoral college elects the U.S. President and Vice President.
No. They are both elected by the electoral college which is directly elected by the people.
directly
Not directly. The vice president is elected along with the president in the electoral college.
Electors
Nine
In the US both houses of Congress are elected directly, as are all state offices. In fact, the US President and the Vice-President are the elected officials that are not directly elected.
A state's governor is directly elected by its registered voters. The U. S. president (and vice president) is elected by a group of electors appointed by the states.
vice president
The President and Vice-president are elected, the President's cabinet is appointed. If the Vice-president dies in office, the President appoints a new Vice-president, pending confirmation of Congress.

Not directly. The vice president is elected along with the president in the electoral college.
Well, with the elected president comes the vice president.__________________As a footnote, neither the president nor the vice president is nationally elected. The people vote for electors in the presidential election.

The people of the United States. We vote for who we want elected and we ultimately decide who is president and vice president.
