Yes, they are the same company. I purchased a defective Viore TV and they replaced it with an iSymphony as they were out of the size I had purchased in the Viore.
iSymphony is made by Viore. I just emailed Viore and they verified this.
Viore is made by many different manufactores in China.
Viore is the name of the tv brand, however if you bought a tshirt that looks like it says joie de Viore...it actual says joie de vivre in cursive which means joy of life or joy of living in French.
Viore is a company that produces many different types of Television types. The three television types are LCD televisions, LED televisions, and Commercial Grade televisions. These types of televisions will have 720P, 1080i, and 1080p.
from looking at the controller it looks like viore, from calf.
According to their Tech Support who I called yesterday regarding remote codes, Akai made the TV's until about 2 years ago. Now they say that Viore manufactures much of the TV with some of the major components manufactured by Samsung. It was made by a company called Akai. Their web site is below.
The cheapest tvs are going to be LCD/LED tvs with no extras on them. HD tvs and plasma tvs are going to be more expensive. Some of the cheaper brands would be Viore, Sigmac, and Westinghouse, although you can probably find a reasonably priced LCD tv in the more popular brands also.
Unsure of the parent company, which is in China. Akai made the TVs until about two years ago and now they make their own components, with the primary ones being made by Samsung according to their tech support. They also recommended using Samsung's remote codes which worked great for me....finally!
Viore's technical support line did not have a specific code for U-verse and suggested I try the codes listed for Samsung, saying that one of them usually work. Voilà! Code 1443 was most similar to the code listed for a Viore, so I tried it first and it worked like a charm. Hope this helps others. I had called AT&T and they weren't able to help.
The 5-digit codes for Akai are as follows: 10702, 10030,10672 these codes work on Comcast remotes. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I just purchased a 32" LCD Viore TV from Kmart and have comcast. I tried every possible combination on the comcast remote withoutsuccess. Finally the only option I could find that would allow me to use one remote for both devices is a learning remote (mines a sony, paid around $20 for it) . The sony had the code for my scientific altantic cable box. I had to teach the remote all the controls for the TV. Works great and now I don't have to worry about breaking or losing the original remote. In additon to learning the functions, I programed the remote to turn both on with one keystroke, use the volume on the tv and all other keys with the cable box. Sucks that the TV has such a non typical remote, and that the TV remote will not operate a cable box like my Vizeo tv remote does. I would not have bought it if I would have know. ****************************************************************** According to their Tech Support some of their primary internal components are manufactured by Samsung and that the Samsung codes will work with all universal (cable, satellite) remotes and Viore TV's. This is for a current model purchased black Friday 2010, so your mileage may vary. ******************************************************************* Yes the Samsung (VIORE) Codes do work for the scientific Atlanta cable boxes! I bought 2 of the Viore Flat screens and the Samsung code is the same.
I think that it is good for you.
