Is the vacuum rubber supposed to be on when you use the vacuum cleaner?
Daniel Hess invented a machine with a bellows for suction and arotating brush in 1860, but it was largely impractical. Ahand-pumped vacuum cleaner invented by Ives McGaffey appeared andwas patented in 1869. In 1901, Cecil Booth, a British engineer, invented a large contraption built on a wagon that w…as set upoutside buildings and had hoses running through windows to servicemultiple rooms. Booth had seen a machine originated by an American, and this was a springboard to his device. The Chapman and Skinnermachine from San Francisco (1905) worked, but at nearly 100 pounds, did not sell. James M. Spangler's idea was purchased by WilliamHenry Hoover, who built and marketed a unit with a bag attached toa long handle beginning in 1907. As is so often the case with inventions, a "standard" devicedoesn't appear out of the blue. Rather, a good working design isdeveloped from different ideas that appeared over time before abreakthrough of sorts incorporates those older designs and a bit ofnew thinking. (MORE)

To use a vacuum cleaner, you plug the cord into an outlet, click the on switch, and glide the bottom of the vacuum on the floor! It will suck up any little pieces of stuff on the ground, but make sure that you clean up any big things before vacuuming so it does not ruin your vacuum!
There's a sealed tank that's about half full of water, half full of air. At the top of the tank there is a hole going to the vacuum moter, and a tube going to the bottom of the water on one end, and to whatever is sucking off of your floor on the other.. The motor pulls the air out of the top, drop…ping the pressure inside the tank. Since water won't expand (much), the pressure is equalized by air from the tube which is full of the stuff from your floor. This dirty air enters at the bottom of the water. As it bubbles up to the top, heavier and larger things like dust and dirt remain trapped in the water, and the air comes out clean.. That's it in a nutshell.. Your vacuum cleaner likely has a series of valves and maybe a one-way respirator (like on some snorkels that only allow water to flow in one direction) to reduce the risk of water damaging the motor. Even though water does an excellent job filtering air, there are probably also some filters at the motor exahaust to catch things the water couldn't trap. Still, none of these are necessary to the basic functioning of a water-based vacuum cleaner.. This exact process is used in some industrial air filtering systems, and just like your home water-based vacuum cleaner, creates a nasty sludge which gets flushed into the sewage system. (MORE)
Disconnect the hose and put a dinner knife down the hose and theweight of it should shift whatever is stuck if you "wave the hose"gently. Alternatively, if you have a vacuum that exhales air, youcan try that as well.
it is used to pick up small objects of no importance (like dirt, hair, ect...) without using your hands.
A vacuum cleaner is a cleaning tool in many households. Most come with a carpet and rug cleaning design, which features a rotating brush to pick up dirt so that the vacuum can carry it to the bag. These are called 'upright' vacuum cleaners, as opposed to 'canister' vacuum cleaners, which are connect…ed by a hose to the tool being used. Many upright vacuums now have hoses, which can be used like a canister hose, and some canister vacuums have power heads, with rotating brushes. Vacuum is created by an impeller, which pulls air from one part of the machine to another. The low pressure, or 'vacuum' is used to transport the dirt and dust into a bag or receptacle. Some vacuum cleaners are mounted on trucks, and have hoses six inches (15 cm) in diameter, and are used for cleaning industrial sites. They are powered by the truck engine, and have very large tanks that the material is stored in until disposal. (MORE)
Bagless When you turn on the vacuum cleaner, the suction from the motor (either top or bottom) sucks in dirt and dust, bringing it into the cyclonic dust bin, and preventing it from getting into the motor by using a dust filter. When full, you must dispose of the waste in the cyclonic dust bin…, either dumping it into the disposal or using a flip bottom. Bagged When you turn on the vacuum cleaner, the suction from the motor (either pulling it in by a fan driving a belt or a fan behind or below the bag) sucks in dirt and dust, bringing it into the bag (usually filtered). When full, you must dispose of the bag and replace it with an empty one. (MORE)
Starting with the assumption that one knows what a pool vacuum is. (1) Connect a pool hose to it. (2) Connect the pool hose to the vacuum plate over the leaf basket. (3) Connect the vacuum head to a pole long enough to get the reach you need. (4) place the pool head (hole down ) on the pool …floor. (5) start the pump, (making sure it is set to filter). (6) Systematically rub the pool vacuum head along the pool floor and walls where possible until you have covered all submerged surfaces. (7) Stop the pump. (8) Unplug pool vacuum hose. (10) Remove vacuum plate and clean rubbish out of basket. (11) Replace basket. (12) check that Hair/Lint basket against pump is clear and clean out if necessary. The pool should now be ready for use if the filter is also clean enough for use (MORE)
No but Roomba is. Roomba is an automatic vacuum cleaner which moves around your house and picks up dirt and dust while moving. It does its job very well, saving you a lot of time and effort. It is worth taking a look at Roomba if you are going to shop for a vacuum cleaner.
A vacuum cleaner is used to suck up a mess or dirt in a carpet oron tile or wood floors, and all the gross junk goes into a bag orcontainer you throw away or dump in trashcan. It's a device used in cleaning in which suction is the prime sourcefor picking up dirt and debris from the floor, walls, up…holsteryetc via a vacuum in the machine. Standard vacuums stand upright andwith the motor running have a brush that spins to aid in thecleaning along with the suction. (MORE)
it removes dirt from our home and works much more efficiently than brush & dustpan
Overwhelmingly, no. There are only two steam cleaners available on the market with a built in vacuum. Most people don't buy them to use as a vacuum cleaner though, they are bought because the vacuum gives the steam cleaner the ability to clean carpets on top of their already well known ability to cl…ean hard surfaces. There are some steam cleaners that can be used for carpets and rugs. In fact, they tend to clean the carpet better than most vacuums. They do a much better job at deep cleaning, removing carpet stains, eliminating allergens. Some provide the ability to achieve all of this without harmful chemicals. (MORE)
a vacuum cleaner uses air to create suction. in a vacuum there is no air. Therefore, the aswer is NO.
Follow the directions for hooking up the vacuum either the one that uses the skimmer or the one that hooks up to a garden hose. Make sure all air is out of the hose and you have a good suction. Keep the vacuum head in the water. Then vacuum just like you would vacuum a carpet or floor.
Small pieces of paper can usually be vacuumed up withoutdifficulty, but if the paper is crumpled up, it could clog amachine.
On average most normal size vacuums draw 10 amps which comes to1200 watts on a standard 120 volt vacuum.
it helped us get clean and so that many germs don't make us sick or anything
I have a robotic vacuum cleaner, but if you want to buy one youshould check for some robotic vacuum services. For example, I canrecommend you the Silicon Valley robotic services. You can learnmore about it onreuters.com/article/2014/06/10/idUSnGNX6C1r2L+1d1+GNW20140610
Daniel Hess appears to have been the first to patent #29077 U.S. issued July 10, 1860
Yes of course! Technology is the sum of the ways in which humans provide themselves with the material objects to make life easier. A cardboard box is technology!
The first upright vacuum cleaner was invented by a janitor in Canton, Ohio- James Spangler in 1907. On June 2, 1908, he received US Patent Number 889,823 for a Carpet Sweeper and Cleaner.
3M Produces an electronic Vacuum cleaner. Just google 3m electronic vacuum cleaner and it will show up. Do not confuse this for being safe for cleaning live circuits. It is just ground protected to not short out circuitry.
No, Dyson isn't on the NYSE. It is privately owned, and James Dysonis the Chief Engineer. The stock available on the London stockexchange DYS is sometimes confused with it, but that stock is theDyson group and they have absolutely nothing to do with vacuums(bio-fuel cells I believe).
Uh, you might of vacuumed them up while you were vacuuming...they mighta fallen off the table and then you vacuumed them up. Hope I helped....
No. First of all it wouldn't stay on the ground. and whywould you need to vacuum? A vacuum cleaner depends on a difference in air pressure tooperate. With no air pressure in space, there could be nodifference in air pressure and thus no operation. Inside a manned spacecraft, which is usually pres…surized a vacuumcleaner will obviously work just fine; especially for collectingand disposing of water globules. Also the standard NASA spacetoilet uses a modification of a vacuum cleaner for urinecollection. (MORE)
The machine gets its name from the fact that the fan in the unitmoves air and creates a low pressure pathway (a vacuum, though apartial one) that is open at the nozzle (or hose, when usingaccessories). Air rushes in at the opening of the pathway, and thatmoving air picks up debris. The air and dirt …is then carried to afilter or bag, and the air get out to be returned to the room.Debris is left in the dirt tank or in the bag for disposal. (MORE)
Air pressure out of the vacuum's exhaust automatically creates a negative pressure (a vacuum) at the machines front end - that picks up the dirt.
You put the nozzle where there is dust, and the dust gets sucked into the machine, which collects it (some vacuum cleaners have dust bags, others just have compartments which can be emptied). It's a pretty simple process.
Although it is called a vacuum cleaner, it does not actually create a vacuum. Inside the cleaner there is an electric motor which drives a fan blade. This fan blows air out of the vacuum cleaner and this causes air to be drawn in to the cleaner at the other end. Thus the cleaner works by creating …an air flow, not a vacuum. (MORE)
Toner for copiers is very finely powdered, and a specially filteredvacuum is used to pick it up. Copier repair technicians are oftenseen with the 3M portable vacuum, which they use because it hassuperior filtration capacity.
Most vacuum cleaners come with a brush like attachment that works great for cleaning a couches. Most of them can even get up dog hair.
No, different voltages, we have 230v supply, US 120v. There would be a big bang and lots of smoke, I did it at work once!
yes, but you need an adaptor because US plugs are different to UK plugs you can get these adaptors from places like Maplins ********************************************************************** Some appliances can be operated on either 50 or 60 hertz. It is preferable to use the frequency that …the appliance was designed for. Some appliances have a switch which can be activated so that the appliance can be used at the alternate frequency. (MORE)
Finding this out means knowing how much power the machine uses, andhow long it is used for.
I would not recommend it. Though, technically, moving air is completely safe, there are delicate parts on a laptop. DO NOT USE BRUSHES, ESPECIALLY ON THE KEYBOARD. If you have a shop vac that would be best.
We find permanent magnets or electromagnets in the motors of vacuumcleaners, so, yes, vacuum cleaners use magnets. The type of magnetdepends on the type of motor the machine has.
Of course it varies, but quite a number of hotels are using the Oreck vacuum cleaner because it so light and easy for the cleaning people to carry around.
Probably not, but i am sure it would hurt, so why would you what to?
Typically, no. The vacuum cleaners have a tendency to want to justsuck up the whole taco. They are greedy like that.
Given the history of the vacuum cleaner, the Hoover is thebest choice for that trade or common name.
A vacuum cleaner has a fan driven by an electric motor in it. Thefan moves air, and the moving air picks up dirt and carries it tothe bag or dirt canister where it is stored until disposed of. Themoving air is critical to the operation of the unit in that it isthis moving air that actually picks up …the debris and gets thecarpet/floor clean. (MORE)
Vacuums cleaners with straight suction nozzles that can be turned on and off are generally designed for all types of floors. Of course the Dyson family of vacuum cleaners is recommended by many for it's superior qualities.
There are some buyers for a used Kirby vacuum, but the market is very tiny. Check sites like Craigslist and eBay to see howthings are going.
Upright vacuums are relatively easy to use on flat surfaces such as carpeted floors. Many are lightweight and contain various attachments that enable ease of use when cleaning hard to vacuum areas like stairs.
The 'Kone' model of vacuum cleaner offered by Dirt Devil is a good choice for minor cleaning jobs. It is a hand-held vacuum meant to look aesthetically pleasing when not in use. It is not recommended for larger objects or major cleaning projects.
Vacuum cleaners use vacuum created by a suction pump, to suck up dirt. Industrial vacuum cleaners are those for use outside of the home, such as in offices, factories and warehouses, and are capable of cleaning larger, dirtier areas than would be found in a domestic setting.
There are many factors to take into account when deciding what makes an item ideal for you and your home: what is best for others may not be best for you. However, the lack of a bag used in the Dyson DC25 means this vacuum cleaner provides the user with an easier task - the user will not have to unb…lock the vacuum as in traditional ways. The popularity of the brand ensures assistance and support is readily at hand, which is why Dyson vacuums are the best all-round cleaners for the home. (MORE)
To stop a vacuum cleaner from smelling one can use a variety of items. After washing out the bag or canister one can put orange peel, vanilla extract or dryer sheets inside to release a nice smell when vacuuming.
No they couldn't.One thing is that if water is in there it will get stuck. But this could work if there's no water in there
