Is the xyy syndrome recessive or dominant?

Answer:

XYY syndrome can be said to be "dominant" because if a person has it, they have it. there is no having a recessive gene for this.

However, technically, it is neither. XYY syndrome is not inherited, and usually occurs at random during formation of sperm cells. This happens as an error in Chromosome separation during Metaphase II.

Sometimes it happens as a result of nondisjunction during cell division during a post-zygotic mitosis in embryonic development. This produces 46,XY/47,XYY.
